Rock Climbing/SUP Guide

Rock climbing and stand up paddle-boarding guides work with the program coordinator to facilitate stand-up paddle boarding, rock climbing, camping trips, and other activities that invite first-time adventurers into the outdoor world. This position requires previous experience in indoor or outdoor rock climbing.

Job responsibilities include instructing participants, leading group discussions, and managing the logistics and overall safety of our trips.

Season Commitment: Full time, June 1 - August 31, 2021 (End date flexible)
Compensation:  $0-$1,200 stipend, depending on experience in leadership and working with youth, with the option to fundraise support with the help of Peak 7.  Food and housing provided.

Seasonal Guide Requirements:
  • Commitment to Jesus Christ reflected in your life
  • 18 years of age or older
  • CPR and WFA, or ability to complete WFR/CPR certifications during initial training
  • Excellent physical condition
  • Doctor’s physical within the last two years

Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to top-rope belay, and climb at an easy to moderate level
  • Comfortable with public speaking
  • Adaptable and flexible with last minute schedule and itinerary changes
  • Hard worker who can self-manage and start projects
  • Respect and understanding for the highly diverse cultures and populations we serve
  • Applicants who have a vehicle and are able to drive themselves to and from work are preferred.
