So in everything, strive to love. 1 Corinthians 14:1

This is a painful time for our community, and our hearts are heavy. Like you, we are managing through 3 pandemics: physiological, economical, and societal. We are deeply saddened and angered by the senseless deaths of Tony McDade, Nina Pop, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, David McAtee, Manuel Ellis, and the countless others that have lost their lives due to oppression. These killings are important reminders of the long history of racism and injustice that still exists in our nation. We condemn these acts of violence.

Following Christ’s example of Love, we are committed to serving and supporting all youth of every ethnicity, race, gender, religion, or socio-economic status by providing transformative outdoor experiences that respect the dignity of people. We stand against discrimination, intolerance, violence, and persecution and the systems that perpetuate them. We strive to be a part of healing and peace work in our communities by creating a safe, challenging, uplifting, and transformational environment for those we serve. We want to be part of the solution and pray to have courage, resiliency and the will power to see it through.

We believe that we are all made in the image of God and are made better by the diversity that exists within our community and acknowledge that we need change. That change begins with our commitment to growth, speaking out, as well as continuing to listen to our participants, staff, and community as they share what it is like to be a person of color in our country today. There are many voices to listen to and engage with, from individuals and organizations doing the hard work to enact change that is sustainable and equitable. The Leadership of Peak 7 Adventures, including the Board of Trustees and the Staff, reaffirm our commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Our mission, in the world we serve, is far from simple. Our calling to walk alongside goes far beyond a trail or a river or a mountain. In order to support deep transformation, we need to understand the depth of challenge that youth are facing.

We invite you to unite with us through considering what you can do to make change happen.
